We all have that friend that raves about how CBD has helped them with this problem or that problem and recommends it to you and everyone else for every issue imaginable. Or, maybe you’ve seen a friend start taking CBD and seen the positive changes it is making for them. Whether you’re thinking about starting CBD or have been taking it for a while and not noticing whether it’s helping you, here are some steps that will help you realize how CBD is helping you.
Be consistent
When starting any new routine, you have to do it consistently to get the best results. We recommend taking CBD every morning and night at the same time for at least 2 weeks as a trial to see how it is helping. Research done on CBD use shows that there is a greater benefit with consistent and prolonged use.
Try habit stacking
Not sure you can remember to take your CBD at the same time every day? Add it to an existing routine. Maybe keep it on your nightstand so you can take it right before bed at night and right after waking up in the morning. Or keep with other supplements or medications you have been taking and take your CBD at the same time. Whatever you choose to do, make it something that is easy so you can stick with it.
Make a starting point
If you lose weight, you weigh yourself and take measurements first so you can see how much you lose over time, right? It’s the same with other wellness routines, too. Write down how you are feeling, how you are sleeping, if you’re in pain, stressed, etc. Everyone’s body reacts to new things in different ways so maybe you will get better sleep or have more energy or something completely different. These changes are usually slow and hard to notice so tracking things like sleep, energy or stress levels, eating habits, etc in an app or a journal can help you realize the changes that are happening over a longer period of time that you may not otherwise notice.
Don’t make any other changes
If you want to know exactly what CBD is doing to help you, don’t start or stop any other routines during this 2 week trial time. Think of it as your own little science experiment. If you only change one thing at a time, then you know what how that one thing is helping you. If you change something else, like adding exercise, a new diet, new supplements, at the same time as CBD then you won’t know what is helping and what is not. Those things will all have a postive impact on your life, it will just be harder to determine what exactly is affecting you and how.
Have reasonable expectations
CBD is not an immediate cure for everything and you can’t expect your issues to disappear overnight. Do it for the long term, track your progress and see where it takes you. Maybe it will take a few days notice a difference (like for my husband), or a month (like it did for me). Either way, as long as you are consistent, we are confident you will see results.
I hope these steps help you get the most out of CBD and see how it is helping you.
